Our CEO, Katrina van Eyk, opened the business in 2015 when she began swim teaching at her local swimming pool in Victoria over the summer. She holds Swim Coaches and Teachers Association (SCTA) qualifications in Swim Teacher and extension courses, Bronze/Development level coach and trainer with experience in running rural swim schools, school swimming programs, a competitive swimming club and presenting SCTA courses.
The business expanded to offer an 8-week Swim School program at 3 outdoor pools, School Swimming programs for regional and rural schools, training for aquatic professionals and a podcast which shares the journeys through swimming of our aquatic industry professionals.
Katrina was inspired to train regional and rural Swim Teachers after becoming frustrated that there was little to no Swim Teacher courses around regional Victoria and having to travel 2-3 hours to complete courses. She has now found her passion in sharing her knowledge and expanding the network of Swim Teachers across Australia where they can make their own impact spreading the water safety message to more and more children and families.
